NaPodPoMo Day 12 – Don’t Forget to Breathe!
Hey everyone, welcome back to the RadicalRx Show. I’m Ellen, your host, and as always, thanks for joining me on this journey. Tonight, I want to share with you why I end every episode with the same reminder: Don't forget to breathe.
We live in a world that moves at such a fast pace. From work to family responsibilities, there’s a lot going on, and it’s really easy to get caught up in all of it. That’s why I say “don’t forget to breathe”—because sometimes, in the midst of it all, we really do forget. But those deep, intentional breaths— they can do so much for us.
Breathwork is incredibly powerful. It helps slow our heart rate, it can lower our blood pressure, and it creates a calming effect that reduces stress. Taking just a few deep breaths can signal to our brain that it’s okay to relax, even if just for a moment. It brings us back to the present, helping us ground ourselves and reset. And the more we practice it, the better we get at handling stress, anxiety, and all those crazy challenges that life throws at us.
My reminder to breathe is inspired by a song that I love called Little Garden by
Ayla Nereo. The lyrics talk about how breathing is not only for ourselves but also for those around us. It says, “Breathe, and all the ones around you, you remind them to breathe.” It’s a powerful reminder that by taking a moment to breathe, we set an example, encouraging others around us to find that peace within themselves as well. Just like in the song, I hope that each of us can “grow a little garden” within our hearts and “feed the ones around us with love.”
The song also says, “This is the path for which you were born. These are the times for which you were made.” Those words really speak to me and my mission to bring hope and joy to those around me.
Every breath we take reaffirms our presence and our purpose. When we pause to breathe, we reconnect with ourselves, aligning with our own path, even when life feels overwhelming.
Breathwork is a way to honor ourselves and the journey we’re on. So, the next time you feel anxious, overwhelmed, or just need a moment of peace, remember to breathe. Feel it deep within your lungs, and let that air ground you in this moment.
Thanks again for joining me today. Take care, and as always, don't forget to breathe!
