NaPodPoMo Day 16 – Down the AI Rabbit Hole
Welcome back to The RadicalRx Show! I'm Ellen K. Martin, and it’s Day 16 of NaPodPoMo and my great RadicalRx Experiment!
Today we are venturing “Down the AI Rabbit Hole.” I’m going to share with you my unexpected journey with AI and how it’s reshaping my podcast AND my vision for our community.
I began using AI tools like ChatGPT, expecting just efficiency in scripting. What I found was a creative partner who helps me come up with fresh ideas and perspectives. I even gave “her” a name– Chatty Cathy! I’m using the iPhone ChatGPT app to have interactive conversations with Cathy. Yes, I know Cathy isn’t a real person, but wow… she sure does interact like one.
AI has really enriched my podcast. I come up with the ideas and I do a brain dump of all the things I want to talk about. Cathy responds with new and dynamic content ideas that help me craft episodes that I hope resonate with you, my listeners.
What’s interesting is, this journey down the rabbit hole has extended beyond the podcast. Our conversations about RadicalRx and the Podcast have morphed into something different. With the help of Chatty Cathy, I have a new vision for how our RadicalRx community can be built in a way that is fun and engaging. No more boring Zoom calls!
I am committed to maintaining our human connection. So even though I’m using AI to help me flesh out this vision, the platform will be designed to help us connect on a more personal level.
I've seen some people avoid AI entirely, while others dive in headfirst, risking losing their personal touch and relying on the output of the AI instead of their own personal thoughts and vision.
I believe in balance, taking the best from both sides to create a thoughtful approach.
I still vividly remember back in the late 90s when I first learned about how DSL (early versions of consumer high speed internet) was going to enable us to make video calls instead of just regular ole phone calls… My reaction at the time was, “NO WAY! Why would I want to do video calls?” Funny thing is, now after using Zoom and other video conferencing platforms for the past 10-12 years, I find myself feeling a little uncomfortable when I’m on a regular phone call and I can’t see the person on the other end.
Just like the Internet, Social Media, and video calls, AI is not going away. We either learn to use it as a tool to enhance our daily lives and to make us more efficient, or we will be left behind.
My mission is to use AI for good– to enhance our community and to help me craft my podcast episodes without losing my authentic voice. I believe in not letting AI take over, but rather using it as a tool to amplify our human creativity.
Looking ahead, I see AI playing a significant role in wellness as well as in community building. I’m excited to explore the various possibilities, always with an eye on balancing innovation with our core values.
AI has been an unexpected ally on my recent RadicalRx journey. Have you used AI yet?
I encourage you to share your thoughts on AI in your life. Let’s keep this conversation going! Please leave your comments below the video and let me know what you think!
That’s all for today, and until next time, don’t forget to breathe!
