NaPodPoMo Day 11 – A Special Veterans Day Announcement!
Hello, everyone, and welcome back to the RadicalRx Show! I’m your host, Ellen K. Martin, and I’m so glad you’re joining me for another episode. Today marks day number 11 of NaPodPoMo, or National Podcast Post Month…
…but it’s also a very important day for another reason—it’s Veterans Day!
I just got home a little while ago after having a free Veterans Day dinner at Red Lobster with my dad, a fellow Navy veteran. He and I both served as Navigators aboard our respective ships while we were on active duty! He loves to tell people, “I was the navigator on my ship, and SHE was the navigator on HER ship!”
So, today, I want to take a moment to celebrate all veterans and acknowledge the sacrifices made by those who have served. And with that spirit in mind, I’m excited to announce a program that means so much to me personally—it’s called Pink Ribbon Vets.
Pink Ribbon Vets is a program specifically for veterans with breast cancer, designed to provide a dedicated space within the RadicalRx community where we can come together, share resources, and support each other. Navigating healthcare through the VA can be complex, especially with a breast cancer diagnosis, and this program aims to offer both practical guidance and a strong, compassionate community.
This is a free program for all veterans and even active-duty military who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. And what makes Pink Ribbon Vets truly special is that it’s not just a space to connect—it’s a place to engage in live video support groups within a unique, immersive environment designed just for us.
Imagine joining a video session with fellow veterans who understand what you’re going through, not only because of the shared experience of breast cancer but also because of our service backgrounds. Through these live sessions, we’re creating a supportive, one-of-a-kind virtual space where veterans can talk openly, share advice, and lift each other up in a setting that feels secure and welcoming. This isn’t your standard support group setting; it’s designed to be interactive, engaging, and even fun, with tools and features that allow us to truly connect as a community.
Whether you’re seeking practical guidance, emotional support, or simply a place to share your journey, Pink Ribbon Vets is here to provide that network. And through this virtual environment, we’re able to create a community that feels close-knit, no matter where we’re each located.
This is something you've probably never seen before… For now, I'll just say that it's not your average Zoom call!
If the Pink Ribbon Vets program speaks to you or someone you know, please visit RadicalRx.Live/PinkRibbonVets to join the waiting list and be the first to know when we officially launch. Joining the list means you’ll be among the first to help shape the future of this important community. I'll post the link in the comments.
Thank you for being here, for supporting veterans, and for standing with the breast cancer community. Together, we’ll make Pink Ribbon Vets a place of strength, advocacy, and resilience.
Thanks for joining me on this journey. Take care, and until next time, don’t forget to breathe!
