NaPodPoMo 2024 – Day 2 – Do It Anyway
Today is Day 2 of NaPodPoMo- National Podcast Post Month! I committed to posting for 30 days straight, and I’ll be honest—today, I just wasn’t feeling it.
I’m still fighting off bronchitis and a head cold, and I didn’t even get out of bed until after noon!
But sometimes, we have to show up anyway. This isn’t about the hustle-and-grind mentality—it’s about honoring our commitments, even when they don’t come easily.
Today, I spent most of my time resting, listening to music, and recharging. This evening, I managed to get outside for a hike.
Since 2019, I’ve done the Fall Hiking Spree in the Summit Metro Parks. The objective is to complete 8 hikes between September 1 and November 30.
First year hikers get a hiking staff and shield, and then each year after, you get another shield. This is my 6th year in a row doing the Hiking Spree, but I actually have my hiking staff from the 1970s when our family hiked the Spree!
This year, I hoped to finish by October, maybe even add a few bonus trails. But between travel and being sick, that plan changed.
So far, I’ve finished 5 out of the 8 hikes, and if I’m feeling up to it, I might get back out there tomorrow. The weather looks good, and if anyone local wants to join, I’m considering Liberty Park in Twinsburg.
Today’s a shorter episode, but I’ll be back soon with a longer one inspired by my hike—about the calming practice of Forest Bathing.
Thanks for being here, and until next time, keep taking those Radical steps toward a joyful, healthy life!
